Children Among Us

The children and youth programme at Common Ground has been a great success. The key word in 'Children Among Us', is 'among' recognising that the programme is an integral part of the whole event.
Common Ground week at Living Tradition Summer Schools is not aimed specifically at children although we cater for the children of participant adults. We encourage family participation in all events and to this end we endeavor to provide a continuous programme of workshop activities available to all age groups. We encourage familiies to take the opportunity to participate in classes together particularly arts and craft related activities where previous events have shown "age does not matter" and that children relish the opportunities afforded by being able to interact positively with adults.
Children under five must be accompanied by an adult.
The programme follows the time schedule of the summer school. 9 - 12.15 morning session, 12.15 -1.30 lunch when the children are supervised by their parents, 1.30 - 4.45 afternoon session. After this all children will be the responsibility of their parents and can join with sessions and concerts if appropriate.
The grounds at West Park offer some areas for children. However this is not officially supervised and all children are their responsibility of their parents.
If you are coming with children, please speak to us as early as possible to discuss your needs. Preparation in advance will help us all to have a much better experience.
